What EdgeStories collects — only a subscriber email if you give one — and who processes it.
EdgeStories is built to collect as little as possible. There are no accounts, no logins, no advertising, and no analytics or tracking scripts. Reading a story sends nothing about you to us beyond what any web server receives.
What is collected
- Your email, if you subscribe — stored with the time you signed up and which page the form was on, so we can send you new stories. Nothing else is attached to it
- Server logs — the hosting provider, Vercel, records standard request data such as IP address, user agent, and the URL requested, for security and operations
- Rate-limit counters — interactive pieces that call paid upstream services count requests per IP address in fixed time windows to stop abuse; the counters are used for nothing else
What is not collected
No cookies are set for tracking, no third-party analytics or ad scripts are loaded, and fonts are served from this domain rather than a font CDN. The subscribe form does not share your address with anyone and it is never sold.
Who processes it
The site is hosted on Vercel. Subscriber emails and any rate-limit counters are stored in a Turso (libSQL) database. The research data in stories comes from public archives and is published only in aggregate for private individuals.

To unsubscribe or have your email deleted, write to kai@kyh.io from that address and it will be removed. Questions about this policy go to the same address.
